The National Employment and Training Company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mafraq Development Company, aimed at strengthening cooperation in vocational and technical training, and expanding training programs to meet the needs of the labor market and investors in the King Hussein Bin Talal Development Area – Mafraq.
Under the memorandum, a plot of land has been allocated, in addition to the construction of a 500 m² hangar as part of the expansion of the Jordanian-German Center of Excellence for Solar Energy. The facility will be used to implement additional specialized training programs across several vital sectors. Mafraq Development Company will provide the necessary infrastructure, including electricity, water, and telecommunications, to ensure a fully integrated training environment that serves both trainees and investors alike.
Brigadier General Ashraf Mohammed Alimat, Director General of the National Employment and Training Company, affirmed that the signing of this memorandum continues the fruitful partnership between the two sides, which has been ongoing since 2017. He emphasized that investing in vocational and technical training is a cornerstone for supporting the national economy and supplying the labor market with qualified and competitive talent both locally and regionally. He added that the company continuously develops its programs to meet the needs of various productive and investment sectors.
Ms. Liza Al-Dughmi, Director General of Mafraq Development Company, expressed her pride in this cooperation, describing the memorandum as a strategic investment in developing vocational training infrastructure, enhancing Mafraq’s competitiveness, and attracting more industrial investments. She stressed that this step is aligned with the state’s direction to support vocational and technical education and training as a strategic choice to raise employment rates and reduce unemployment, thereby reinforcing Jordan’s position as an attractive destination for investment based on qualified human capital.
It is worth noting that the vocational and technical training sector is considered one of the most important national pillars the Jordanian government seeks to develop under the Economic Modernization Vision. Such strategic partnerships empower youth, open new opportunities in specialized fields related to renewable energy and the requirements of the modern economy, and strengthen the Kingdom’s ability to address labor market challenges. This reflects the commitment of all parties to joint action for achieving comprehensive economic and social development, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, may God protect him.
