Under the patronage of the CEO of Aqaba Development Corporation, Mr. Hussein Safadi, the first cohort of participants in the “Underwater Cutting and Welding” program graduated during an official ceremony held at the Royal Naval Force and Boats Command. The event featured active participation from several national and international entities, including the National Employment and Training Company and its Aqaba National Vocational Training Hub, both of which played a key role in the success of this pioneering program.
The program, the first of its kind in the Kingdom, is considered one of the rarest and most important specializations in the maritime vocational training sector. Participants received specialized theoretical and practical training in partnership with the Egyptian International Diving School (EIDS) and Sindbad Diving Company.
During the ceremony, several partner institutions were honored. The National Employment and Training Company and the Aqaba National Vocational Training Hub received commemorative shields in recognition of their active role in supporting and coordinating the training program, which aligns with the Royal vision of empowering youth and opening new career horizons for them.
In his remarks, Mr. Safadi emphasized that this program—fully funded by Aqaba Development Corporation—reflects the company’s deep commitment to investing in Jordanian youth. He noted that this graduating class represents a first step toward building national competencies capable of working in highly technical and advanced professional fields.
Brigadier General Ashraf Alimat, Director General of the National Employment and Training Company, expressed his pride in graduating this distinguished cohort. He reaffirmed the continued support of the company, one of the developmental arms of the Jordanian Armed Forces, for such specialized programs that enhance the capabilities of Jordanian youth and open practical opportunities for them both locally and regionally.
The ceremony concluded with a visual presentation documenting the stages of training, followed by the distribution of certificates to the 20 graduates, including 13 civilians and 7 members of the Jordanian Armed Forces. The event was held in a celebratory atmosphere, attended by officials, partners, and representatives of supporting institutions.
