Memorandum of Understanding Between the Ministry of Youth and the National Employment and Training Company (NET)

The Ministry of Youth and the National Employment and Training Company (NET) signed today, Monday, a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing youth engagement and providing opportunities and resources to develop young people’s skills through a variety of programs.

The memorandum, signed by Brigadier General Ashraf Alimat, Director General of the National Employment and Training Company, and Dr. Mazen Abu Baker, Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth, in the presence of Assistant Secretary General for Administrative and Financial Affairs Saif Ajaj, and Director of Organizations and International Cooperation Nasreen Harahsheh, seeks to cooperate in raising awareness among Jordanian youth about the importance of vocational work through workshops and seminars for all youth groups, as well as educating and qualifying trainees.

It also contributes to supporting vocational and technical training by implementing specialized vocational training programs in line with the National Human Resources Development Strategy (2023–2027) and the Economic Modernization Vision 2030.

The memorandum further aims to support local community development by designing and implementing high-quality training programs that provide skilled labor, while leveraging the resources of both the Ministry and NET—including infrastructure, specialized staff, and educational facilities. Specialized training courses will be held in youth centers affiliated with the Ministry.

Dr. Abu Baker emphasized the importance of this agreement with a leading institution in community service, noting its proven efficiency across various fields. He stated that the agreement will serve as a starting point for initiatives that benefit Jordanian youth.

For his part, Brigadier General Ashraf Mohammed Alimat, Director General of the National Employment and Training Company, said that the signing of the memorandum comes in line with the Royal directives on the necessity of empowering youth and preparing them for the labor market. He added that this partnership is a strategic step toward investing in the potential of Jordanian youth, particularly in remote areas, through the implementation of specialized training programs within youth centers, enabling them to acquire valuable vocational skills that contribute to their employment and economic empowerment.

Alimat stressed that NET will dedicate all its capabilities and expertise to implementing these programs in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth, in a way that positively impacts community development and strengthens the culture of vocational work among Jordanian youth.

In the same context, Brigadier General Alimat congratulated the Ministry of Youth on the launch of the “Amman: Capital of Youth 2025” initiative, praising the Ministry’s pioneering role in supporting youth initiatives and enhancing the presence of Jordanian youth both locally and internationally.
