The National Employment and Training Company (NET) and Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) — one of the initiatives of the Crown Prince Foundation — signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening joint cooperation in the fields of vocational and technical education, capacity building, applied research, and innovation, in order to enhance the readiness and competitiveness of the Jordanian workforce.
The MoU was signed by Brigadier General Ashraf Mohammad Alimat, Director General of the National Employment and Training Company, and Professor Dr. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of Al Hussein Technical University, during a ceremony held at the university’s campus in the King Hussein Business Park.
This partnership stems from the mutual desire of both institutions to unify efforts in implementing high-quality training programs that align with the needs of local and regional labor markets through NET’s training institutes. It also includes the implementation of professional apprenticeship programs, employment support initiatives, as well as the organization of hackathons, technical competitions, and joint research and innovation projects.
Brigadier General Ashraf Alimat emphasized that the MoU reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with leading academic institutions to achieve integration between academic education and vocational training, thereby helping prepare a generation of qualified youth equipped with the skills required by the labor market.
For his part, Professor Ismael Al-Hinti expressed his pride in this partnership, stressing that cooperation between academic education and vocational training is the true key to empowering Jordanian youth and enhancing their readiness to enter the labor market with high competence. He added that this collaboration represents a practical step toward aligning educational outcomes with the needs of productive sectors, while promoting a culture of applied learning and innovation.
